Investor Watch: Scams in online social networks - video podcast episode #1
March 4, 2008
On January 31, 2008, the BCSC issued an Investor Watch warning investors to look out for possible affinity frauds when using social networking websites like Meetup.com and Craigslist.org. This video podcast looks further into the issue and extends the BCSC’s message into the social networking world via YouTube and other websites that people use to share and distribute information.
In the coming months, the BCSC plans to issue a series of video podcasts that examine a number of issues relating to investor education and securities regulation. The videos will be available in different languages and are subtitled in order to extend our investor education message into a variety of communities. You can get the newest Investor Alerts and Investor Watches by signing up through InvestRight subscription services.
