BCSC Adds 13 New Entities to the Investment Caution List

The BC Securities Commission (BCSC) proactively helps protect British Columbia (BC) investors by publishing an Investment Caution List. In this blog post, we highlight thirteen names that we added to the Investment Caution List between February and April, 2016.

None of the entities listed below are registered to trade in, or advise on, securities or exchange contracts in BC.

Nine of the entities added to the Investment Caution List are promoting binary options trading platforms.

ZenithOptions: The BCSC became aware of ZenithOptions when a resident was able to open an account with the firm.

SEL Investments Ltd. (operating as InvestingCI) purports to have an office in the United Kingdom (UK). The BCSC became aware of SEL when a BC resident was able to open an account with the firm.

Option Orbit: A BC resident was able to open an account with Orbit that prompted the BCSC’s attention.

Binex Markets, Vision Financial Partners, LLC and Vision Trading Advisors purports to have an office in the UK. The BCSC became aware of this group of companies after Vision Trading Advisors (VTA) had contacted a BC resident about opening an account with Binex. In that regard, VTA instructed the BC resident to send funds to the bank account of Vision Financial Partners.

Iqoption Europe Ltd., operating as IQ Option. The BCSC became aware of the website of IQ Option, an entity that purports to have an office in Mahé, Seychelles.

CTOption and InfiniCore Ltd., which claims to have offices in London, England, and Kingstown, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, owns and manages CTOption. The BCSC became aware of CTOption when a BC resident was able to open an account with them.

Central Provider Ltd. operating as Central Options asserts to have offices in London, England, Hong Kong, China, and Toronto, Ontario. The BCSC became aware that Central Option was soliciting BC residents to open an account with the firm.

Pegase Capital Limited, operating as Interactive Option claims to be based in Cyprus. The BCSC became aware that a BC resident was solicited to invest with Interactive Option.

CST Financial Services Ltd., operating as Opteck purports to be based in Belize City, Belize. The BCSC became aware that a BC resident was solicited by a representative of Opteck, and was able to open a trading account with the firm.

The following four entities were also added the Investment Caution List during the above-mentioned time period:

Tain Capital claims to be a boutique private equity firm in Vancouver, BC, offering investment related services. Tain has not filed a prospectus or an exempt distribution report in BC.

LBinary appeared on the BCSC’s radar when a BC resident was able to open account with the firm.

AlfaTrade, Nemesis Capital Limited, which purports to have an office in Bulgaria, claims to be a brokerage firm that offers trading in Forex, contracts for difference, commodities and indices. Nemesis owns and operates AlfaTrade. The BCSC became aware of Alfatrade when a BC resident was able to open an account with the firm.

Delta Lloyd Investment Fund N.V. The BCSC became aware of an entity (Delta India) that claims to be Delta Lloyd Investment Fund N.V. (Delta), with an office in Mumbai, India, which offers to trade investors’ money for a large return.
