Eight new additions to the BCSC’s Investment Caution List
The BC Securities Commission (BCSC) continues to proactively help protect British Columbia investors by publishing an Investment Caution List. In this blog post, we highlight some of the entities that came to our Enforcement Division’s attention over the past few months.
The entities listed below are not registered to trade in, or advise on, securities or exchange contracts in BC.
July 2014 OptionRally Financial Services Ltd. dba OptionRally (OptionRally), an entity that provides an on-line platform for trading binary options and purportedly has an office in Hong Kong, was added to the Investment Caution List after a BC resident received an unsolicited telephone call.
Global Settlements Group was added after the Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) of Saskatchewan issued an Investor Alert. In the alert, the FCAA warned former York Rio Resources Inc. investors about solicitations made by an individual claiming to act on behalf of Global Settlements Group. There are BC residents who invested in York Rio, and the BCSC issued investor alerts regarding York Rio in the past.
Perkins Investment Group Inc., and Sky Forex Broker purport to offer high-yield investment programs, and Keswick Capital Corp. purports to offer asset management and electronic trading for retail clients, private equity and venture capital funding for corporate clients, among other things.
May/April 2014 Karatbars International GmbH was added to the Investment Caution List after the Autorité des marchés financiers issued an alert warning people to exercise caution about an investment program linked to the company.
