Fans Take a Shot at Fraud at Canucks Open Practice
We had a fantastic time down at Rogers Arena on March 22, giving everyone a chance to Take a Shot at Fraud during the Canucks Open Practice. With 6,000+ Canucks fans in the arena, more than 1,000 kids and parents stepped up to take a shot at our fictional fraudster David (not in the flesh, of course, but a cardboard cut-out). And one of them went home with an signed jersey.
While we were there, we taped a new video featuring Canucks broadcaster Joey Kenward and some of the fans. We asked them about money and how to protect it from a fraudster. They had some great answers and observations.

We have a winner!
We’re delighted that the BeFraudAware online contest to win a VIP Canucks Experience drew 2,431 entries. That’s 2,000+ British Columbians who’ve now given more than a passing thought to how they can protect themselves from investment fraud, just by taking the Take A Shot at Fraud quiz when they entered the contest.
Congratulations to Mitch from Surrey who’s happy to have a Canucks jersey autographed by Henrik Sedin, a pair of tickets to this Saturday’s game against the LA Kings, and a night at The Metropolitan Hotel in downtown Vancouver. Have a great time, Mitch! Remember to send us a selfie from the game.
All in all, March was a great month for increasing awareness of investment fraud. From the online contest to Open Practice to a big lift in comments on our Facebook page, more and more people are starting to fraud proof themselves by learning how to recognize and avoid investment fraud.
We’d love to hear from you if you’d like to see more contests and special events. Just leave a comment below, or post something to our Facebook page.
