BCSC Settlement Agreements
Global Crossing Airlines Group Inc. (formerly known as Canada Jetlines Ltd.) and Mark Morabito
Canada Jetlines Ltd., a former BC-based startup airline, and its ex-executive chairman Mark Morabito have paid $100,000 for failing to promptly disclose a major delay in flight launch plans. In 2017, the airline announced plans to launch flights in summer 2018 which was delayed after a key aircraft lease fell through.
Although the company informed regulators in early 2018, it did not tell the public until March – a violation to the Securities Act which requires timely disclosure of material changes that could impact share value. Morabito was found to have permitted the breach.

Though he acted like a securities registrant – soliciting lenders and facilitating deals – he was not registered under the Securities Act and did not qualify for an exemption.
