To help protect yourself and your loved ones when doing research about an investment, just remember the three R’s – Recognize, Reject, and Report. You can report any suspicious activity to the British Columbia Securities Commission (BCSC) anonymously using the Report a Concern form or by contacting BCSC Inquiries at [email protected].
Fraudsters are good at what they do. The assurances they make are the lies that they tell. By learning and recognizing these five warning signs, you will be in a better position to reject a fraudulent investment.
Recognizing warning signs is only one of the steps on the way to protecting yourself. However, you also have to reject those promises and then report people who make them.
